The Hope Spring Water Charity Foundation, the Nigerian counterpart of Hope Spring UK is organising a walk called ‘walk for water’ in Nigeria capital city, Abuja. The walk is scheduled for the month of March 2018. The Walk for Water Abuja event, was organised by Hope Spring country director for Nigeria, Mr Temple Oraeki. It is part of a wider advocacy event, put together by End Water Poverty, a coalition of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and NGOS working to end water poverty globally.
End Water Poverty Water Action month is built around the UN’s world water day, which is the 22nd of March every year.
Shedding more light on Walk for water Abuja event, the coordinator and walk leader Mr Emeka Asonye said “ the point of walk for water Abuja is to help ensure that WASH is a top priority, and that the vulnerable and most marginalised groups are not left behind”

He added that “raising awareness about the importance of safe water and sanitation is crucial to achieving Goal 6 of the sustainable development goals”.
Mr Asonye call on people in and around the route of Walk for Water Abuja event, to join him and other Hope Spring volunteers in the walk. The walk is designed to show solidarity with millions of Nigerians, who lack access to safe, clean water and basic sanitation.
