North Herefordshire based ethical skin care company Herbfarmacy has donated £250 to Hope Spring Water charity. The donation was made in support of Hope Spring’s water poverty alleviation project in Africa.

During a visit to Hope Spring Water’s office in Castle Green, Hereford, on the 27th of June, Hannah Forstbrook of Herbfarmacy presented a cheque for the amount donated to the charity. Accepting the cheque on behalf of the international development charity Hope Spring, erstwhile supporters and fundraisers Peter and Chris Dowsett thanked Herbfarmacy for their generous donation, saying that the money will help at least fifty people to access safe, clean water in the areas the charity works in.

The donation was part of Herbfarmacy’s social responsibility initiative for their successful, limited edition bath tea; ChariTea. Before the launch of ChariTea early this year, the company pledged to donate £2 to Hope Spring for each jar of the bath tea sold.

Speaking about Hope Spring’s partnership with Herbfarmacy that led to the donation, Hope Spring trustee Temi Odurinde said “it is refreshing to partner with a company that thinks holistically about their product. Herbfarmacy are aware that taking a bath is one of the most water intensive activities we undertake regularly in the UK. To donate part of the proceeds of a water intensive product like a bath tea, to help people struggling to access basic drinking water takes thinking out of the box to a new level”.
